StoryNight is an iOS app that creates personalised, illustrated bedtime stories for children using artificial intelligence. Every story is unique — generated around your child's name, favourite themes (dragons, space, ocean, jungle, and more), mood, and a lesson you'd like to teach.

Each story includes beautiful AI-illustrated panels and an optional narrated audio version your child can listen to at bedtime.

Getting started takes less than a minute:

• Open the app and complete the quick onboarding to create a child profile (name and age).
• On the Home screen, choose a story theme (e.g., Dragons), a purpose (e.g., Bedtime), and a mood (e.g., Calm).
• Optionally add a personal note or choose an art style.
• Tap Create tonight's story ✨ and your story will be ready in about 30–60 seconds.

The Free plan supports one child profile. With a Pro subscription you can create unlimited profiles, making it perfect for families with multiple children — each with their own personalised story library.

Each story is a 7-panel illustrated book. Each panel has a paragraph of story text and a caption, making stories short enough for bedtime but rich enough to capture imagination — typically a 3–5 minute read.

You can choose from a variety of illustration styles including Watercolour, Cartoon, Storybook, Pixel Art, and more. The style is applied consistently across all 7 panels of your story.

Yes! You can:

• Add a personal note on the home screen (e.g., "include the family dog called Biscuit").
• Enter a custom image prompt detail to influence the illustration style.
• Create entirely custom story types in Settings → Custom story types.

Yes. Every story passes through a multi-layer content safety filter before being saved. The AI is instructed to generate age-appropriate, positive content focused on adventure, kindness, bravery, and bedtime themes. Any story that fails safety checks is not shown to the child.

Yes. Inside the Story Reader, tap any panel to open it fullscreen, then use the regenerate option to re-generate just that panel's illustration without affecting the rest of the story.

There are two narration modes:

• Device TTS: Uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech, available on all plans. Choose from female or male narrator voices.
• Premium AI voices (ElevenLabs): High-quality, expressive AI narrator voices available on the Pro plan.

You can listen panel by panel or let the full story play automatically like an audiobook.

Go to Settings → Story narrator to switch between female and male voices and pick a specific voice character. The default voices are available on all plans; additional voices are unlocked with Pro.

• Free: 5 stories per month, 1 child profile, device TTS narration, English only.
• Pro: Unlimited stories, unlimited child profiles, premium AI narrator voices, all story languages, priority image quality.

Tap Upgrade → in the Settings tab or on the Home screen when you reach your free limit. Subscriptions are processed securely by Apple in-app purchase.

Open iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find StoryNight, and tap Cancel Subscription. You will retain Pro access until the end of the current billing period.

Go to Settings → App → Restore purchases inside the app. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

Refunds are managed by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Yes. We only collect the child's first name and age to personalise stories. All stories and profiles are stored locally on your device — we do not maintain a cloud database of your stories. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No. We do not sell personal data and there are no advertisements in the app.

Inside the app you can delete individual stories by swiping them in the library. To delete a child profile and all their stories, go to Settings → Child profiles and swipe to delete. Uninstalling the app removes all data from your device.

Story generation usually takes 30–60 seconds. If a story appears stuck for more than 2 minutes:

• Check your internet connection.
• In the Library, tap the card in "generating" state — there may be a Retry option.
• Force-quit and reopen the app.

• Check that your device is not on silent mode.
• Ensure volume is turned up.
• For Premium AI narration, you need an active internet connection as audio is streamed.
• Try the TTS narration option if the AI narration fails to load.

Go to Settings → Appearance and choose between System (follows iPhone settings), Light, or Dark mode.
